Well, this excerpt is taken from my profile on my Blog Homepage:
"Thoughts from a person who wears many hats. Drummer, Worshipper, Comedian, and Encourager...my journey of setting aside all of my other hats for the best one of all, a crown glimmering with jewels, a captivating shine, and inscribed with the words 'Follower of Christ.'"
Now if you're thinking, "Hey, this guy likes a lot of hats," then I would say that you're sadly mistaken. No, I used that word picture of hats because it's a really good representation of who I am as a person. I call myself a Comedian because I love making people laugh. I'm a Worshipper because I love to praise my Creator and sing to Him and use the gifts He's given me for His glory.
In case you're wondering what these gifts are, I have been given the gift of playing the drums. I started playing when I was thirteen years old and I am completely self-taught with no lessons or anything. I tried to do the whole "rock n' roll" band thing during my high school years, but nothing ever panned out. Nothing except the Youth Worship Band. I was involved in my church's worship bands from about eighth grade until I graduated high school, and since then I play on both teams during the summer months when I'm off of school.
I'm also a Worship major at Indiana Wesleyan University and I LOVE IT! My time there has been and still is a blessing from the Lord. I'm learning so much and am thankful for the opportunities I've had already.
Now back to the hats. I'm all of those things that I've mentioned, but in the end, I'm a follower of Christ first and foremost. I am a Disciple. Yes, I've been called to worship ministry and I'm active in my church and me being funny is part of my makeup, but at my core my prayer is to have my relationship with Jesus be the real thing that matters. I pray that when people see me that they see a reflection of Him.
Without Him I am nothing.
